It’s recommended that you get your hair extensions removed by a professional. This is to ensure your natural hair experiences no damage or harm. But this isn’t always possible.

Here’s how to remove hair extension according to the its type:

Removing tape hair extensions

tape-in extensions are the easiest to remove. all you’ll need is a bond remover and a comb

1-Apply the bond remover to the tape and massage it in.

2-peel the extension off and slide it out feel the tape is loosen. ( be sure not to pull too hard as this will damage the natural hair). add another drop of the bond remover i needed.

3-repeat the process until you remove all the extensions.

Removing bonded extensions

Although it might take a bit more work, it is possible to remove bonded hair extensions at home.

1-your hair should be completely dry before starting, because wetting the bonds can actually make them harder, which we don’t want!

2-Separate the bonded hair extension from all other hair around it and apply a few drops of the bond remover. Massage this into the bond.

3-use the hair extension pliers to break the bonds into smaller pieces, then slide out the extensions.

Once all the bonds have been broken and extensions removed, use a fine tooth comb to ensure there is no residue or loose hair left.

Removing weave or sew-in extensions:

it is difficult to remove this type of hair extension alone, we recommend second pair of hands to help you.

1-be assured that your hair is completely dry as this makes it easier to distinguish your natural hair from the extension.

2-The extension wefts are attached by a thread to a braid on your head. start to cut the thread and not the wefts themselves. as you may be able to reinstall them later.
3- Once all the weave has been removed, unbraid your braids gently, avoiding pulling and tugging the hair which could cause damage
